Ideal for on-the-go meals, parties, or picnics, these wraps offer a delightful balance of textures and rich taste everyone will enjoy.

Ingredients

Crescent Dough

  • Crescent dough, 1 package

Filling

  • Ricotta (plant-based), 1 cup
  • Fresh spinach, 4 cups, chopped
  • Garlic (natural), 2 cloves, finely chopped
  • Onion (natural), 1 small, finely chopped
  • Nutmeg (natural), 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt, 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil, 1 tablespoon
  • Natural gelling agent (optional), 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Spinach Filling: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add finely chopped garlic (natural) and onion (natural), sauté until soft and fragrant. Add fresh chopped spinach and cook until wilted. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg (natural). Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  2. Mix Ricotta and Spinach: In a mixing bowl, gently combine ricotta (plant-based) with the cooled spinach mixture. Stir carefully to maintain creaminess. Add the natural gelling agent if using to help the filling hold together during baking.
  3. Prepare Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean surface. Separate into triangles along the perforations. Stretch each piece slightly if needed for easier folding.
  4. Fill and Roll the Wraps: Place a generous spoonful of the spinach ricotta mixture on the wide end of each dough triangle. Fold the dough over the filling and roll from the wide end toward the tip to form crescent shapes. Press the edges gently to seal.
  5. Bake Until Golden: Place the wraps on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes or until the dough is puffed and golden brown. Serve warm for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use fresh spinach for optimal flavor and texture.
  • Do not overfill the wraps to prevent tearing or leaking.
  • Space the wraps evenly on the baking sheet for even baking and crispness.
  • Let wraps cool for a few minutes after baking so the filling sets perfectly.
  • Adjust garlic, nutmeg, and pepper seasoning according to your taste preferences.
