Description

Honey Garlic Butter Shrimp and Broccoli is a quick and flavorful dish that combines tender shrimp and crisp broccoli in a rich, savory-sweet sauce made with natural honey, garlic, plant-based butter, and vegetarian Worcestershire sauce. Ready in under 30 minutes, it is perfect for busy weeknights and offers a nutritious balance of protein and vegetables with vibrant colors and irresistible taste.

Ingredients

Protein and Vegetables

  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined) – 1 lb
  • Broccoli florets – 3 cups

Sauce and Seasoning

  • Butter (plant-based) – 3 tbsp
  • Garlic (minced) – 3 cloves
  • Honey (natural) – 2 tbsp
  • Vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural) – 1 tbsp
  • Apple cider vinegar (natural) – 1 tsp
  • Red pepper flakes (optional) – 1/4 tsp
  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt – 1/2 tsp, or to taste
  • Black pepper – 1/4 tsp, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Ingredients: Rinse the shrimp thoroughly and pat dry with a paper towel. Cut the broccoli into medium-sized florets to ensure even cooking. Mince the garlic finely. Gather honey, vegetarian Worcestershire sauce, and apple cider vinegar ready for use.
  2. Cook the Broccoli: Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add broccoli florets and sauté until they turn bright green and just become tender, about 3 to 4 minutes. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Remove broccoli from the pan and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Shrimp: In the same pan, add a little more olive oil if needed. Add the shrimp and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until shrimp are pink and opaque. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  4. Make the Honey Garlic Butter Sauce: Push shrimp to the side of the pan. Add plant-based butter and minced garlic into the drippings. Sauté quickly until garlic is fragrant but not browned. Stir in honey (natural), vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural), and apple cider vinegar (natural). Let the sauce bubble and thicken slightly.
  5. Combine and Finish: Return the broccoli to the pan and toss everything together so the shrimp and broccoli are evenly coated with the sauce. Cook for another minute to warm through and allow flavors to meld. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Do not overcook shrimp as they become rubbery quickly.
  • Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
  • Prepare all ingredients ahead of time for smooth cooking.
  • Cook on medium-high heat for ideal texture without steaming broccoli.
  • Adjust honey quantity based on preferred sweetness.
