Description

Copycat Morton’s Steakhouse Chicken Christopher is a rich and flavorful chicken dish combining tender chicken breasts, smoky turkey bacon, and a savory blend of natural vegetarian Worcestershire sauce and fresh herbs. Perfect for weeknight dinners or special celebrations, this recipe delivers a hearty, elegant main course ready in under 45 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Bacon

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 6 slices smoked turkey bacon

Sauce and Aromatics

  • 2 cloves garlic, freshly minced
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)

Oil and Herbs

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper to build flavor from the inside out during cooking.
  2. Cook the Smoked Turkey Bacon: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add smoked turkey bacon and cook until crisp and golden. Remove bacon and set aside on paper towels to drain excess oil, reserving the rendered fat in the skillet.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: Using the turkey bacon fat, gently sauté minced garlic and chopped shallots in the skillet over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes until fragrant and softened.
  4. Sear the Chicken: Increase the heat slightly and add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet. Sear for about 4 minutes on each side until golden but not fully cooked through.
  5. Deglaze and Simmer: Deglaze the pan with apple cider vinegar and chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits on the bottom. Stir in vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural) and fresh thyme. Cover the skillet and simmer gently for 10 minutes to finish cooking the chicken.
  6. Finish with Smoked Turkey Bacon and Parsley: Return the crispy turkey bacon to the pan and let flavors meld for 2 more minutes. Just before serving, sprinkle fresh parsley over the top for color and freshness.

Notes

  • Properly dry chicken breasts to ensure a nice sear that locks in juices.
  • Use fresh herbs like thyme and parsley for added freshness and complexity.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan to allow even browning without steaming.
  • Maintain a low simmer to keep chicken tender and juicy.
  • Allow chicken to rest a few minutes before serving to redistribute juices.
