Description

Sticky Beef Noodles is a hearty and flavorful dish featuring tender slices of beef and perfectly cooked noodles coated in a rich, savory, and naturally sticky sauce. Ideal for quick weeknight dinners or entertaining guests, it combines satisfying textures and customizable flavors, making it a comforting meal that keeps well for leftovers.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef and Marinade

  • 300g tender beef slices (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (natural)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Noodles

  • 200g fresh or dried egg noodles or rice noodles
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil

Sticky Sauce (natural)

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (natural)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon natural gelling agent

Cooking and Garnishes

  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (natural), for finishing drizzle

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef: Thinly slice the beef against the grain and marinate briefly with soy sauce (natural), minced garlic, and brown sugar to infuse flavor.
  2. Cook the Noodles: Boil noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain and toss with vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  3. Make the Sticky Sauce (natural): In a bowl, combine soy sauce (natural), vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural), apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and natural gelling agent. Stir well until sugar dissolves and sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Sear the Beef: Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Quickly sear beef slices until just cooked but still tender. Remove from pan to avoid overcooking.
  5. Combine Everything: Lower heat, add garlic and ginger to the pan, stirring until fragrant. Pour in the sticky sauce mixture, return beef to the pan, then toss in noodles. Mix thoroughly to coat every strand with sauce.
  6. Finish and Serve: Remove from heat, drizzle sesame oil (natural) over the dish, add chopped green onions, and gently toss once more. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use thin beef slices for faster cooking and tender results.
  • Avoid overcooking noodles to maintain texture when mixed with sauce.
  • Fresh garlic and ginger provide brighter flavors than powders.
  • Adjust brown sugar incrementally to achieve desired balance and sauce stickiness.
  • Allow sauce to rest briefly after mixing for better thickness before adding to the pan.
